Transformations, Inc. is a residential development and building company located in Townsend, Massachusetts. The company is run by R. Carter Scott whose specialty is sustainable development and green building. Scott’s most notable development, Coppersmith Way in Townsend, is a sub-division of LEED certified, ultra energy efficient homes, all of them with renewable energy systems.

In 2005, Transformations won the Energy Star Custom Home Builder of the Year Award presented by the New England Joint Management Committee for its homebuilding in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts. During the past year and a half, Transformations has built seven Near Zero Energy Homes (with HERS Indices under 40) at Coppersmith Way and last year, Transformations had three of the “Top Ten Scoring Energy Star Homes” in Massachusetts. Their goal in the Zero Energy Challenge is to build an affordable home that not only achieves a “0” HERS rating but meets the performance criteria of the North East Sustainable Energy Association’s ZERO-Energy Building Award.
