Rural Development, Inc. (RDI) is a non-profit organization that was created by the Franklin County Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) in 1991. RDI works with its partners to expand housing and economic opportunities for residents and communities in rural Franklin County and the North Quabbin region of Western Massachusetts.
An ENERGY STAR Partner since 2003, RDI has built 63 ENERGY STAR certified homes, 12 of them with PV. More recently they allied themselves with the LEED for Homes and Build America Program and they have successfully built several green, near zero energy homes. Wisdom Way Solar Village is RDI’s first sub-division, or community, of near zero net energy homes.
